A *Noisography reviewer thinks that there are too many guitar and drum duos these days.
No shit. We've been doing this for many years, and have encountered dozens upon dozens of duos that have  made a minor hipster splash, and then quickly come and gone. Apart from a solid core of seasoned musicians who find their groove in two instruments, forming a two-piece band is a massive trend; one whose roots aren't entirely without merit. It's a tough world for bands right now, with very little money and attention to go around, and a lot of folks seem to think it's easier to function merrily as a duo.

It is most assuredly not.

We're a married couple and committed rock and roll musical partners for life.
So our two-piece guitar and drum band, trendy or not, ain't going nowhere.

We also tired ourselves out and attended quite a few festival shows.
Highlights for us included Crosss, Dog Day, Bad Vibrations, North Of America, Air/Fire, and Rockets Red Glare.
'Tis a shame that we missed C'mon, High On Fire, and Feuermusik.

The title and certain phraseology lend a confrontational tone, despite the characteristic diplomacy of his responses.

The piece also implies that we are moving to glorious Nova Scotia due specifically to Toronto's lack of interest in our music (we're not, although The Big City, of course, an artistic consideration).

There were quite a few more bodies than usual at our farewell Toronto show last night.

Hibernation Continuation

It seems that things are starting to come together at a very steady pace. We have realized that we are nearly ready to record our next full length album, and are planning on heading back to the very tip of the Peninsula to do so in early March.

We'll be hauling all of our drum, guitar, and recording gear through whatever snow the dead of winter gives us to spend three days cooped up in a house. Personally, I am anticipating all going well, but there is always a good chance that things could go terribly wrong.
All work and no play, etc.

One more nice bit of news we came upon recently is that we were mentioned as one of the "Top-10 Local Albums" in the KW Record/Guelph Mercury. Thanks to those folks for that pleasant surprise.
